He came to us from a shelter in deep South Texas, showing signs of a life filled with neglect—missing much of his fur and lacking basic veterinary care. It seems he may have lived outdoors for quite some time, learning to fend for himself. His rugged coloring and scruffy coat have earned him the nickname "The Mountain Man." With a deep, comical bark, he reminds many of a little old man who has indulged in a few too many cigars, bringing smiles to those around him. Despite his rough past, Winchester has an easygoing and gentle personality. He gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue, and he enjoys simply hanging out by your side. All he asks for is a soft bed, a loving hand, and companionship. We would love for Winchester to spend his golden years in a caring home. He would be a perfect companion for a retired individual or couple seeking a quiet, loyal dog. After everything he has endured, he deserves to experience comfort and love. Currently located in Hondo, Texas, Winchester is available for transport to Frederick, MD, on August 22nd.
