About Shaggy
Shaggy is an adorable 12-pound Chihuahua Terrier mix who journeyed to us from Laredo, Texas, where he lived in a backyard surrounded by other dogs. Unfortunately, he arrived covered in fleas and ticks, and understandably nervous around people. At first, he would curl his lip and shoot us a wary look, but as he settled into the safety of his new environment, his true, gentle nature began to emerge. Now about three to four years old, Shaggy needs a bit of time to warm up to new faces. For this reason, a home without small children would be ideal, where he can gradually build trust and feel secure. The great news is that Shaggy is heartworm-negative and Chagas-negative, eager to exchange life in rescue for a loving, quiet home that allows him to flourish. He dreams of cozy lap time, a patient owner, and a kind atmosphere that encourages him to thrive. If you feel you could be a match for this sweet little guy, don’t hesitate to apply online for adoption. Shaggy is currently in Hondo, Texas, with transport to Frederick, MD available on August 22nd. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and his adoption fee of $450 includes transport costs. Shaggy is ready for a forever home. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
