Meet Evee, a 3-year-old spayed female who weighs about 24 lbs. She just arrived from Texas and is starting to adjust to her new life. Evee was found with her family as a stray and had to be trapped to ensure her safety. Although she's still learning to trust, she’s made great progress in walking on a leash. Evee would do best in a calm home with another dog, particularly one that’s male, like her buddy Buck, who helped her feel more secure. Right now, she is a bit scared of cats, so a neutral feline companion would suit her best. She’s comfortable in her crate but occasionally wants to roam at night, suggesting she’s ready for more activity as she builds confidence. A patient family that celebrates her small victories in becoming a house dog will be ideal for her. While she’s healthy and up-to-date on vaccinations, she is currently undergoing treatment for heartworm, which is manageable and covered by her rescue.
