Dex is a 1.5-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier mix currently in foster care in Houston, TX, but ready for transport to an approved adopter. He’s a smart, loyal, and affectionate dog who thrives on connection with his people. Always eager to play, especially tug-of-war and fetch, he exhibits patience and respect in his interactions with other dogs, playing well with them of all sizes. On a leash, Dex walks calmly and shows no reactivity around other dogs. He’s well-trained, fully house trained, and knows how to relax in his crate when asked. While he enjoys structure and has a job to do, he requires a home without cats or small animals due to a strong prey drive. Though he has been around children, Dex may take time to warm up and would do best in an adult-only home or with experienced teens. Once bonded, he becomes incredibly loving and loyal.
