Meet Cooper, the lovable Husky on the hunt for his forever home. Cooper came from the San Bernardino City Shelter and is currently being fostered in Canoga Park. At just one year old and weighing in at 45 pounds, he embodies the quintessential Husky spirit. With his goofy charm and affectionate nature, he’s won over hearts throughout the San Fernando Valley. True to his breed, Cooper is vocal and has plenty to say. He greets you at the door with enthusiasm, narrates his walks, and isn’t shy about voicing his opinions, especially when dinner is a bit late. But this is just Cooper being himself. Despite his playful attitude, he’s incredibly loving with tons of kisses to share. He gets along well with children and is generally easygoing. He doesn’t guard his toys, and shows great behavior on the leash—impressive for a young Husky. Cooper does well with most dogs, though he is a bit particular about his friends. He’s shown curiosity toward cats on leash, so with the right introductions, a cat household might work. Cooper is crate trained, healthy, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. He shouldn’t be crated longer than 2 to 4 hours and needs an active home, ideally with daily walks of 3 to 4 miles. Although he still has his puppy energy, he’s expected to calm down with time.
