About Liberty
Meet Liberty. Liberty's journey is a story of resilience and survival. She spent weeks at a rural shelter, cowering in a concrete kennel and fiercely protecting her puppies. Once a street dog, the shelter environment overwhelmed her, making her terrified of the humans around her. But Liberty held on, waiting for the day she could feel grass beneath her paws and see the sky. That day arrived when she and her puppies were given freedom rides to join Bridge Between Animal Rescue, marking the start of a new chapter in their lives. Learning how to be a dog again wasn't easy for Liberty. At first, she was scared of people, but with time, she discovered the warmth of gentle pets, the comfort of a cozy bed, toys to play with, and, importantly, the companionship of other dogs. To feel secure and confident, Liberty needs at least one other dog in her forever home. Her ideal adopter will be patient and understanding, allowing her to take her time and cheering for her small victories. Liberty is a young adult, weighing around 30 pounds. She has a unique charm, with a golden coat, funky ears, and an adorable curly tail. One ear is missing a chunk, a subtle reminder of her past that we can't fully know. Currently heartworm positive, she is undergoing treatment and is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Liberty has spent long enough just surviving; now she deserves a life filled with safety, love, and freedom. Ready to meet Liberty? Apply now!
