Maverick is a charming 3.5-year-old neutered male, imagined to be a Retriever/Doberman mix, weighing around 55 pounds. Currently, he's thriving in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas after being rescued from a euthanasia list. This low to moderate energy dog prefers the comforts of a loving home over constant excitement. He seeks a companion who appreciates quiet, gentle moments, especially when he can rest his head in your lap while enjoying sunny spots outdoors. Fully house-trained and crate-trained, Maverick is an incredible indoor companion. He walks well on a leash and enjoys leisurely strolls where he can soak up his surroundings. Affection is his favorite language; he loves to nuzzle against his humans and patiently stand between their legs for pets. His friendly nature makes him sociable with other dogs, but he doesn’t require a canine companion to be happy. Although Maverick has no history with cats, a home without them is preferable. He's previously lived with children and would do best with older kids, around 12 years and up, who know how to interact respectfully with dogs.
