About Mya

Meet Mya, a striking black and white Australian Shepherd mix whose smooth coat and amber eyes make her truly stand out. This sweet girl came to foster care as an owner surrender because of changes in her family situation. Now, she’s ready for a fresh start with a family that understands her gentle heart and intuitive nature. Although Mya can be a little shy around new people, she quickly warms up once she feels safe. She's a classic Aussie with a bit of a bossy side, showing a typical stranger danger instinct while still maintaining a desire to supervise her surroundings. Mya does well with other dogs if introduced properly but isn't particularly interested in toys—what she values most is human companionship. She loves belly rubs, snuggles, and couch time. Mya is crate trained but does show some barrier aggression towards other dogs when crated, calming down once everyone gets settled. Currently at 60 lbs, Mya is on a diet and exercise program aiming to reach her target weight of 50 lbs. She enjoys walks and yard time but isn’t hyper. While she isn’t afraid of water, she's still deciding how she feels about a pool. Mya walks well on a leash and is an excellent car rider. The ideal home for Mya would be one with a patient adopter familiar with Australian Shepherds, values companionship, and can provide a routine and gentle structure. Another furry friend in the home would be a plus. A single-family home with a fenced yard would help her thrive. If you think you could give Mya the loving forever home she deserves, please fill out an application today.
