About Elle Mae
Elle Mae is a charming 6-year-old Jack Russell mix who found her way to the Stanislaus shelter as a stray. Initially shy and frightened, she quickly transformed into a cuddly, affectionate companion once away from her kennel. Happy to curl up in a lap, Elle Mae has a gentle demeanor, especially as she warms up to new people. Currently adjusting to her foster home, she’s already become a beloved gem, demonstrating her house training and enjoying crate time. Elle Mae walks beautifully on a leash and is social with those she meets. While she does well around other dogs, she tends to be more comfortable as an only dog or with calm canine companions; her current foster dog is a fine match but she prefers to keep her distance. With each passing day, Elle Mae is gaining confidence. She has taken on her new role as the neighborhood watch, perching on the couch to oversee the comings and goings around her home. Quiet yet alert, she occasionally expresses her feelings with a soft whine, especially if she’s nervous or excited.
