About Achilles
Meet Achilles. Some dogs spend their lives chasing tennis balls, but Achilles has devoted his to chasing the people he loves. At approximately 13 or 14 years old, he found himself in search of a family after being surrendered to the police. Thankfully, he got a second chance and now hopes to spend his retirement on a cozy couch, stealing treats, and soaking up love. Achilles embodies the essence of an old soul. He’s house trained and responds to basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and come. Just raise a treat, and he'll sit without even needing an invitation. He’s not a fanatic for puppy antics; he’s here to be your most loyal companion. His preferences are refreshingly simple. He adores car rides, eagerly watching for every new vehicle as a potential adventure. Achilles enjoys leisurely walks and is friendly with people, especially teenage kids. He barely pays attention to other dogs when out and about. At home, don’t underestimate Achilles—his gray face may suggest seniority, but he deftly hops onto the couch or your favorite chair. He might have some bumps and lumps that come with age, but they don’t hold him back. He relishes a good snack and is happiest just being near his people. While he’s generally good with dogs, Achilles prefers being the only canine star. He thrives in a home where someone is around often to keep him company. Not fond of crates, he feels he’s earned the right to enjoy his golden years in the way he sees fit. Senior dogs like Achilles love with a unique richness. They focus on companionship rather than keeping up with the hustle and bustle of life. Every day is a precious gift, and they remind us to cherish each moment alongside them. Achilles doesn’t require a perfect family, just someone willing to give this old boy the soft landing he deserves. In return, he’ll shower your home with quiet companionship, unconditional love, and gratitude that only a senior dog can provide. Ready to make this transition official? Apply today!
