About Kai
Meet Kai! This sweet boy is a young, mixed-breed dog who recently turned one on July 8th. He came to us after being surrendered by his owner and has been labeled as special needs due to limited socialization. Kai requires more social training with his future family. He is around 30 lbs and shows potential traits of various breeds, including Labrador. Kai is a great snuggler, often wanting to be close to his humans. Initially, he was quite scared upon arrival and took time to build trust. Once he settled in with a foster family, he quickly warmed up, displaying his playful side. However, when meeting new people, Kai can be shy, tucking his tail and showing some anxiety. With the right reassurance and guidance, he transforms into an energetic puppy. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, but needs more confidence in public spaces. Kai is good with other dogs but exhibits some barking towards cats, so we recommend careful introductions. He may be nervous around children initially, requiring gradual introductions and training. More than anything, Kai needs an understanding and patient adopter who can help him develop into a wonderfully socialized companion.
