About Cupid
Cupid is a 1.5-year-old mixed breed Shar-Pei whose sweet nature shines through, despite only having three legs. His rear leg was amputated after a tough injury, but he doesn’t let that slow him down. Cupid is house trained and crate trained, and he knows basic commands like sit, down, wait, and leave it. He’s learning to walk politely on a leash and benefits from a fenced yard, but is also making progress with long leash walks and recall work. Cupid lives with kids (ages 4, 5, and 8) and handles both calm snuggles and bursts of play with gentle respect. He does well with other dogs, especially well-established and neutral ones, though he tends to prefer females due to previous unpleasant experiences. Cupid lives with cats, too—he can coexist with them as long as clear boundaries are set, since he may resource guard affection if a cat tries to share his space during cuddle time. Feeding separately manages any food guarding, and he responds well to hand feeding and structured routines. He loves to learn, thrives with structure, and doesn’t need another dog at home, but wouldn’t mind an easy-going companion. With his medium-high energy, Cupid is ready for walks, games, and affection in a household committed to providing a caring and attentive environment. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
