About Wink
Meet Wink, a sweet 7-year-old Cattle Dog/Heeler mix with a gentle heart and an easygoing personality. Weighing 35 pounds, this handsome black and white boy seeks a peaceful retirement home filled with love and companionship. Wink is house trained and crate trained, showcasing wonderful manners at home. He loves to follow his people around and often gives them a charming little nose "boop" to remind them he’s nearby. This calm and affectionate companion enjoys his naps and simply being beside those he loves. Wink gets along well with other dogs and happily coexists with multiple cats. Due to his limited vision and hearing, he can be startled by sudden movements, so calm introductions are best. We believe he would thrive in a home with older, respectful children who know to approach him gently. Despite his past as a stray, Wink has remained incredibly kind and trusting. After initially pacing during his first days in a foster home, he has settled into a peaceful routine. He has limited sight and hearing and will soon undergo surgery to remove one eye. It’s important for his future family to either have a securely fenced yard or always walk him on a leash to ensure his safety. Ensuring he sees or senses you before approaching is key to avoiding startling him. If you're looking for a loyal, low-energy companion to share quiet love and gentle nose boops, Wink is ready to spend his golden years by your side. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
