About Hazel
Hazel is a spirited and sensitive young dog with an athletic build and a big heart. She's been through a lot—abandoned in a remote area while pregnant, she found shelter under the stairs of a compassionate elder before coming into rescue. Despite her early hardships, Hazel is thriving now, transitioning from devoted mom to eager companion. She’s a beautiful mix of Chihuahua, Siberian Husky, Australian Cattle Dog, and German Shepherd, around 30 pounds, and remarkably agile. Anyone interested in agility sports should take note—Hazel has the drive and energy for it. Hazel does well with children and is cautious around new people, especially tall or larger men, but she warms up with gentle patience. She enjoys the company of some dogs—she’s done well with her foster’s resident dog—but needs slow introductions and might be happiest as the only dog in the household. She walks gracefully on leash and harness, though a regular collar can bring out her pulling instincts, especially if rabbits are about. Her hunting side also means she won’t hesitate to keep small critters in line. Hazel is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and has received a thorough vet check—she even had some old buckshot removed during her spay, suggesting a tough past. She’s fully house trained and ready for a loving home where she can settle in and be appreciated for her loyal nature and playful energy. Your new best friend is just one click away.
