Meet Daisy. Sometimes the saddest stories aren't those of terrified dogs. Sometimes they belong to those who still believe that every person they meet is going to love them. That’s Daisy. She was found wandering near Mason's Boat Dock, and instead of being frightened, she approached a volunteer happily, ready for companionship. Daisy had already made herself at home in a nearby yard, playing with another dog as if they were lifelong friends. Her trust and gentleness are remarkable—she even rode back to the shelter next to her rescuer, blissfully unaware that she was now waiting for a forever home. Upon her arrival, Daisy’s lovely face bore scrapes and scuffs, indicating her struggles while surviving alone. It seems she may have encountered some other dogs too, as she prefers to be the only pet or to meet other dogs first. With people, however, she is simply wonderful—she adores attention, walks, and soaking up the fresh air. Every volunteer who spends time with her can attest to her loving nature, and even after being overlooked, she welcomes people with a wagging tail and hopeful eyes, convinced that this time might be the one someone chooses her. This is Daisy's second chance at adoption. Not because anything is wrong with her, but because the right person just hasn't seen her yet.
