About Tucker
Apply to adopt Tucker, a spirited 1.5-year-old possible Fox Terrier mix with a heart as big as his resilience. Weighing in at 17 pounds and navigating life on three legs, Tucker shows no signs of slowing down. He was rescued after being shot in his front left leg and has since healed remarkably well after surgery. Now, he just needs the right family to cheer him on into his next adventure. Tucker is quiet and house trained, happily sleeping through the night. While he’s not a fan of the crate, he settles down when it’s time to rest. He enjoys the company of other dogs and is learning to walk calmly on a leash. Due to his wiry coat, Tucker prefers short walks in the cooler parts of the day, avoiding the dreaded Florida heat. In the car, he can feel a bit anxious but is improving with practice. He’s not particularly food motivated but loves playing with squeaky toys or running after a tennis ball. Tucker is all about being with his humans, whether that means curling up at home or sharing some outdoor fun. He does experience some separation anxiety, so he thrives in a home where people are around most of the time. If you’re in the Central Florida/Orlando area and think you can provide the loving atmosphere Tucker deserves, please complete an application to tell us more about yourself.
