Nitro is an energetic and affectionate young Pit Bull Terrier looking for a loving home. This approximately 9-month-old gentleman is full of happy puppy energy but also knows how to settle down for a cozy nap next to his humans. He has already earned a reputation as an excellent cuddle buddy. Living in a foster home, Nitro interacts well with other dogs and has a playful spirit, appropriately adjusting his play style to fit in with the pack. He shares his space with two cats and has been respectful toward them, showing curiosity without being overly intrusive. Nitro has also enjoyed the company of older children, showering them with attention and love. Just a note, though—when he gets excited, he can be a bit mouthy, so he may not be the best fit for very young kids until he continues refining his manners. With potty training going well and only a few accidents during his transition, Nitro proves to be reliable. He is learning how to handle being alone for longer stretches, as he typically sleeps soundly in his kennel overnight. Leash walking is a breeze for Nitro, though he occasionally barks at other dogs. He knows commands like sit and down, and boasts excellent recall. His house manners are impressive for a pup, chewing gently on his toys without showing signs of resource guarding. Nitro enjoys a good romp but also knows how to chill, making him a fantastic companion. He thrives on inclusion and loves being part of family activities, from camping to attending baseball games. Overall, he radiates joy, with a big-boy bark for when it’s necessary. Nitro did wonderfully at a recent adoption event, happily greeting everyone including a number of enthusiastic children.
