About Woody

Woody is a happy boy seeking a fresh start and a loving home! This 2.5-year-old male Labrador Retriever mix weighs around 40 lbs and is ready for his forever family. He's currently at Lucky Dog's shelter in South Carolina but needs to get to the DC area for adoption or fostering. Woody gets along well with other dogs, though there hasn't been an opportunity to see how he interacts with cats or children. We're open to discussing integration techniques if you're considering adoption. Woody tested positive for heartworms, but don't worry! This condition is not contagious and he is receiving proper treatment. After his recovery, he'll be back to his lively self, but will need to be kept calm for a bit during the healing phase. This boy is in his prime and is eager for sniffy walks, adventures, and the comforts of a loving home. He can't wait to attend dog school to showcase his intelligence, enjoy belly scratches, and curl up in a cozy dog bed at the end of the day. Woody truly just wants to feel safe and loved. Are you ready to welcome him into your heart and home?
