Meet Shuler, an energetic young dog who is eagerly awaiting his forever home! This shepherd and retriever mix is about a year old and weighs around 28.8 lbs. Shuler’s friendly disposition makes him a great companion for other dogs, although we haven’t had a chance to observe him with cats or children yet. Shuler dreams of a loving home where he can enjoy sniffy walks, playful romps in the park, and engaging dog school sessions to show off his intelligence. He’s been through quite a bit, arriving at the shelter with an embedded collar that has since healed. Shuler is ready to embrace his new chapter, filled with cuddles, belly scritches, and all the adventures his new family can imagine. He craves safety and affection in return for an abundance of loyalty and joyful tail wags. Currently located in South Carolina, Shuler needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to make his way here.
