About Piper

Meet Piper, a joyful two-year-old Pharaoh Hound and American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Hickory, NC. She’s a little beam of sunshine, radiating trust and boundless energy at just 31 pounds. With her sleek brown coat and a cheerful white chest, Piper’s eyes gleam with curiosity. Once neglected, Piper now embodies joy and playfulness. She loves people, enjoys playtime, and excels at cuddling! Whether she’s zipping through the yard with her favorite toy or inventing her own keep-away game, she brings spark and spontaneity wherever she goes. Her athletic build means she thrives with an active family who can keep up with her energy. She's up for walks, runs, backyard games, or any brainy enrichment toys you throw her way! Piper is house-trained, crate-trained, and knows commands like sit, down, and stay. Social and affectionate, she greets newcomers with happy wiggles and warm hugs. Piper is wonderful with children and gets along great with other dogs who enjoy companionship and play. However, due to her strong prey drive, she isn’t suited for homes with cats or small animals. It’s best for her new family to provide clear boundaries, fun challenges, and loving structure. After some fun playtime, Piper enjoys curling up next to her favorite person for snuggles. Though she has high energy, she knows when it’s time to settle down. She prefers a cozy space to retreat to when things get lively, particularly during loud events like fireworks. Piper shares a sweet bond with her calm companion, George. They’d love to be adopted together, but can also thrive separately. Could your home be where Piper’s joy truly takes flight? If you’re interested in welcoming Piper into your family, please email adopt@joyfulpets.com for more information on how to adopt her. Also, she is open to long-distance adoption, showing that love knows no distance! Start your adventure together. Apply now!
