About Figgy
Figgy is a nine-year-old Pug with a big, gentle heart and a personality that fills any room. He’s the classic velcro companion—always wants to be near his person and will offer his signature “seal barks” to greet you like you’re the highlight of his day. After a long journey from a rescue in Korea, Figgy settled with a devoted foster before heading to New England, winning over everyone along the way with his affectionate nature. Sir Isaac Fig Newton (also known as Fignacious and Figgy Puddin) isn’t in a rush; he enjoys slow-paced walks, is a couch snuggle expert, and melts for back scratches. His leash manners are solid, he gives gentle, polite greetings, and he takes treats with the care of a little gentleman. He’s also pee pad trained for rainy days and rides quietly in the car. Figgy’s working on navigating stairs and improving his confidence—he’s learning and getting braver. Figgy comes with some medical needs: he takes daily thyroid medication, needs eye drops twice daily, and has sensitive skin that requires ongoing care. His monthly medication costs are around $150. Applicants should be committed to managing these needs. He can be a bit bossy with other dogs, so if there are other pups in the home, he’ll do best with structure around food and guidance around play. He’ll likely thrive as the only dog or with a confident, well-adjusted companion. He usually does well with older children but may chase cats, so a cat-free home is best. For the right family willing to meet his needs, Figgy will be an endlessly loyal, affectionate shadow. Start your journey together! Apply now.
