About Rufio

Meet Rufio, an affectionate Cane Corso mix currently working towards his ideal weight of 75 pounds. Rescued from the streets in January 2026, he has gradually learned to trust humans. Shy but sweet, Rufio takes his time to warm up, and within a week in his foster home, he already started seeking affection and following his foster mom around. Rufio is gentle and good with children, especially loving his 9-year-old foster brother. While he’s a bit intimidated by his foster dad, he shows no aggression, opting instead to keep his distance. His energy level is low to medium; he enjoys quiet evening walks and is making strides with his leash manners. He lives harmoniously with two senior Chihuahuas, letting them take the lead without any resource guarding. Rufio is house trained and knows how to signal when he needs to go out. He’s comfortable in his crate, sleeps well through the night, and has a delightful habit of emitting a goofy howl when left alone for a bit. Rufio is on the lookout for a patient adopter who can provide him with the love and safety he craves. He is located in Houston, TX, and can be transported to many states with an additional fee of $300. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
