About Reggie
Meet Reggie! This striking Akita has come out of his shell since arriving at the shelter. Heβs a big guy, and while he can turn heads during walks, he needs some work on his leash skills. Reggie enjoys his time in the yard, often seen tossing toys around and keeping an eye on his surroundings. As an Akita, Reggie requires an experienced dog owner, preferably someone familiar with large breeds. He may take a moment to warm up to new people, but once he does, he'll happily accept pets and snuggles. His fluffy coat will also need regular grooming to keep it in top shape. Reggie tends to get mouthy when playing with other dogs, so introductions will be essential to ensure a good fit. We recommend a home without small children, given his size and need for adjustment. If you're the experienced adopter he's looking for, please fill out an application and set up a time to meet him!
