About Mara
Meet Mara! This beautiful German Shepherd lady is about 3 years old and is currently looking for a loving home after sadly losing her previous one. While she could use some extra filling out, it’s important to maintain her health through regular exercise. Mara enjoys her spa days to keep her coat looking shiny and well-cared for. Mara loves to fetch and has a graceful way of moving, often more dainty than many of the larger Shepherds. She knows commands like 'sit' and takes treats gently, showing her sweet nature. True to her breed, she also has a watchful side and will patrol her yard to ensure everything is in order. However, Mara does have a special need. She has been diagnosed with Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca, commonly known as dry eye. This means she'll need lifetime eye drops to keep her eyes moist, along with regular cleaning to help her see clearly and enjoy her adventures. She deserves a caring home where she'll receive this support. If you're interested in giving Mara the loving home she needs, please fill out an application or contact the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter to arrange a visit. Think you are the one?
