Meet Nikolai! At 3 years old and weighing 50 lbs, this calm and gentle boy is still discovering that the world is a safe place. Before his rescue by Bubbles Dog Rescue, Nikolai did not receive the kindness he deserves; he was found with a rope tied around his mouth. Despite his past, he has never shown any aggression toward humans or dogs. Having recently completed an 8-week board and train program, Nikolai is building confidence and becoming more comfortable exploring the outdoors. While he can be a bit skittish on walks, often looking for reassurance, he's making progress with patience and routine. Nikolai thrives in predictable environments and would flourish with a confident handler. His ideal home would be one with attentive humans and canine companions to help him along. Nikolai has some endearing quirks; he likes to carry his food to a cozy corner before eating, digs into blankets to make the perfect nest, and loves to cuddle like a little lap dog. He gives gentle kisses and seems eager to soak up affection, as if making up for lost time. Fully house trained, he knows basic commands like sit and lie down and has a delightful case of the morning zoomies. Nikolai is smart, eager to bond, and blossoms more each day. Everyone who meets him finds it hard not to fall in love, and he reciprocates that love wholeheartedly.
