Meet Ashe, a joyful, toy-loving goofball with a heart full of love. If enthusiasm were an Olympic sport, Ashe would take the gold. He launches out of his crate like a rocket, tosses his toys into the air to chase them, and splashes through creeks, all while trying his best to sit politely for a treat. His greatest joy is making his people smile. Ashe is the definition of a Velcro dog. Once you earn his trust, he’ll follow you around, happily supervising kitchen activities and volunteering to taste-test anything from pineapple to lima beans. He's incredibly smart, knows commands like sit and come, and walks beautifully on a leash when given guidance. Having survived severe abuse and neglect, Ashe is still learning that the world can be a safe place. He’s wary of unfamiliar people and needs thoughtful introductions. However, his loyalty is unmatched once he feels secure. Currently, he’s working with a trainer to continue building his confidence. An active home with experience is ideal for Ashe, as he thrives with structure and consistency. He does best without cats, but his interactions with other dogs have gone well with proper introductions. Given his nervousness around new people, an adult home or one with older, dog-savvy children would suit him best. Ashe’s journey from rescue to this point has transformed him. Once just skin and bones, he now radiates health, strength, and an endless spirit.
