About Ace
Meet Ace! At 10 and a half years old, this charming German Shorthaired Pointer weighs 65 pounds and proves that age is just a number. Ace is a sweet, polite, and friendly companion who knows how to be a great housemate. He’s fully housetrained and has good manners, content when spending time with his people. Ace enjoys a simple life filled with walks, exploring the yard, and carrying around his favorite stuffed toys. He particularly loves car rides and is always ready for an adventure. When treats come into play, Ace showcases his impressive ability to catch them in mid-air. He’s a smart dog, responding well to cues like “come,” “sit,” “wait,” and “get on.” On the leash, he’s an easy walker, enjoying regular exercise but would appreciate more chances to stretch his legs. Ace gets along well with other dogs and has a friendly demeanor with everyone he meets. Though his foster family hasn't observed him around young children, he would likely do well with respectful kids aged 6 and up. However, due to his size and enthusiasm for wildlife, a home without frail seniors or very small children is best. What Ace truly desires is companionship. He forms strong bonds and doesn't fare well being left alone for long periods. This loyal companion would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time or enjoys bringing their dog along for outings. He can become anxious and vocal if left alone, so understanding adopters are essential. Ace has some medical needs to consider; he has mast cell tumors on his right shoulder and left wrist, managed under veterinary guidance. He takes daily medications and supplements for comfort, which will be provided for the first six months after adoption. Despite these challenges, Ace maintains a happy spirit and a wagging tail. He has settled well into foster care and is eager to find a family that appreciates a loyal and affectionate companion. If you’re searching for a devoted friend who will happily accompany you on car rides, walks, and cozy evenings, Ace may be your perfect match. Give them the home they have been waiting for.
