About Red

Eight-year-old Red joined the HBHR family after being rescued from a shelter in Alvin and has really thrived in his loving foster home. His calm, friendly personality shines through, and he enjoys the attention from his foster beagle brothers as well as his foster parents. Red loves to rotate between his favorite napping spots—the couch, the back porch, and a shady patch of grass. He enjoys walks and has good leash manners, with very few accidents indoors. Red has a playful side too; he loves to challenge his foster brothers to wrestling matches, keeping everyone entertained with his goofy antics. Although he has a touch of mischief in him, he'd benefit from having another dog around to engage with. His gentle, easygoing nature makes him a great family companion. While he does have a signature bay, he's not overly vocal, usually saving his barking for when his foster parents arrive home. Red adores being held, cuddled, and curling up for cozy snuggles. He’s also quite the determined digger, so a securely fenced yard is a must. He’s spent little unsupervised time outdoors, as he’s been known to tunnel under the fence to make friends with the neighbor's Labrador! Overall, Red has been a loyal and mellow companion. This charming beagle embodies all the lovable traits of his breed—friendly, playful, affectionate, and just a bit mischievous to keep things interesting. He’s healthy, happy, and ready to find his forever family. Click apply to start the adoption process.
