Levi spent over two years with Houston Beagle Rescue after coming in from a troubled hoarding case. When he arrived, he was considered about 7, but it’s hard to believe he’s 9 now—the lack of grey in his short coat and his clear, bright eyes suggest a younger spirit. He’s filled out to a sturdy 26 pounds and looks healthy. After losing his close companion last summer, Levi slowly became more outgoing. He’s been found seeking out the company of other dogs and is just as likely to wander inside and curl up somewhere cozy for a nap. He's easy to live with: house trained, never chews anything except his beloved milk bones, and doesn’t get into mischief. Levi isn’t one to play much with toys, but he does enjoy gentle attention from people he’s gotten to know. He’s even passed an overnight stay with a volunteer with no issues. Going for walks on leash suits him, and he’s generally easygoing about new routines. Levi does take time to adjust in a new home, but the patience pays off for those willing to let him settle in.
