About Briar
Meet Briar. Some dogs spend their entire lives waiting for someone to truly see them, and that's the case for Briar. At over 12 years old, she came to us from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where more than 135 dogs were cared for. For so many years, she merely existed instead of enjoying the life every dog deserves. Upon arrival, Briar needed emergency surgery for a pyometra, had her umbilical hernia fixed, and a small mass removed from her eye. With only three teeth left, it’s hard not to be curious about how long she endured discomfort. Despite her past, Briar's resilience shines through. She may not immediately seek attention, but each day she grows a bit braver. We catch her quietly peeking around the corner with curious eyes as if she's cautiously learning to trust. Briar seeks a peaceful home where she can spend her golden years enveloped in kindness, patience, and cozy spots to rest. She doesn't need grand adventures—just the comfort, safety, and unconditional love she has long missed. Adopting a senior dog like Briar is a significant decision, but senior dogs can profoundly change your heart. Though Briar may not have had the best start, we’re determined to help her find the happy ending she deserves. If you have room in your heart for this sweet survivor, Briar is waiting to meet you.
