About Dora
Meet Dora! We are excited to announce that applications are now open for this lovely one-year-old female Chihuahua mix. We rescued Dora from a hoarding situation, where she was living with 16 other dogs, including her pregnant sister. Since joining us, Dora has made remarkable progress in her socialization, blossoming into a sweet companion who loves to snuggle. Dora is smart and house-trained, confidently using a doggie door. Though crate-trained, she prefers to curl up next to her humans at night. While she navigates indoors with a harness and leash, she still needs support to adjust to outdoor walks. Given her background, she'll need a patient adopter who can help her adapt to the outside world. She thrives best in a calm, adult-only environment, or with older, quieter teenagers. Fast movements can startle her, so homes with small children are not ideal. Dora would prefer to be the only dog or share her space with one smaller breed companion, as she tends to avoid larger dogs. She has truly come to enjoy human affection and does possess a typical Chihuahua temperament, sometimes showing a hint of jealousy when it comes to lap time. We are looking for someone committed to providing Dora with ongoing training to help her continue her journey. With the progress she’s made, we believe that there are endless possibilities in her future. After a rough beginning, Dora has a bright chapter ahead waiting for her. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and let's get started.
