About Sassy
Sassy is a 2-year-old Chihuahua/Dachshund mix with an edge. Dumped as a puppy, she grew up feral in a homeless encampment and learned to fend for herself—scavenging for meals and warmth without human comfort. That background means Sassy is cautious and startles easily, especially around loud noises or new faces, but her resilience shows through: she survived a fractured pelvis that quietly healed on its own. Her adjustment to foster life has been gradual but honest; she prefers peace and consistency and needs time to trust. Sassy currently lives with both dogs and cats, but she’s best as an only dog or possibly with a mellow cat. She will guard food and toys from other pets but isn’t possessive with people. Once settled, she’s sweet and playful in her own way—enjoying chew bones and quiet time with her person. She needs someone experienced and patient who values her spirit and respects her limits. With structure and understanding, Sassy could become an intensely loyal, devoted companion. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Sassy and other Chihuahua/Dachshund mixes don’t require large yards. Short walks and supervised outdoor time are enough, especially since safety and comfort matter more than space for a dog like her.
