Maddy is a sweet and gentle 10-year-old border collie mix whose life recently changed when her owner passed away. After spending time in boarding while her owner was in the hospital, she never returned home. This cuddly girl is very easygoing. She gets along well with everyone—children, cats, and other dogs. Her ideal day includes a cozy window view, walks, and gentle pets. Maddy loves attention; she leans into your hand for pets and returns sweet kisses, all while sporting the cutest smile. She's a dream to walk on a leash, responding gently to light pressure. Though Maddy is a gentle soul who brings joy, she is grieving and adjusting to her new surroundings. After nine years with one person, change can be a bit overwhelming. At 80 lbs, she’s currently on a weight-loss journey to reach her ideal weight of 60 lbs, necessitating care for some arthritis in her back legs. The vet believes that losing weight will enhance her comfort and mobility, making walks easier. Maddy thrives in a home with minimal stairs, ideally with a fenced yard for exploration. She would fit well in a family with kids, other dogs, or cats, but would also do well as an only pet. In return, you’ll gain a loyal companion who loves deeply and has much affection to offer.
