About Nova
Nova is searching for a new home after showing he isn’t able to safely live with cats. He’s outgrown his current foster’s ability to manage his prey drive, and his family wants the very best for him—if you’re able to foster or adopt, it would make all the difference. This black and white Labrador/Border Collie mix is fully vetted, microchipped, and house trained. Nova is affectionate and gentle around people of all ages, especially children. He’s playful, loves food (just about anything), and has a knack for finding mud on walks or runs. At home, he balances his high energy with the ability to settle down and just relax next to you, often curling up in a child’s bedroom to sleep. Nova needs to live in a dog-only household due to strong resource guarding and prey drive—he should not be with cats or small animals. He loves spending time with his canine friends and thrives in a home where his energy and smarts are put to good use. His transition will be supported by his current foster, who’s eager to set him and his new family up for success. Your new best friend is just one click away.

Questions about Nova
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Nova, as a Labrador Retriever and Border Collie mix, does best in a home with active people who can give him plenty of exercise and mental challenges. He would thrive in a house with a secure yard, rather than a small apartment.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Nova's mix of Labrador and Border Collie means he's happiest with daily access to a decent-sized yard or frequent trips to parks and trails. He needs enough room to burn off energy and play safely.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Nova has shown he is loving and gentle with children. Labrador/Border Collie mixes are generally great with respectful kids and often enjoy being part of a family.
