This handsome young boy was found wandering alone through a wooded neighborhood, far too thin, hungry, and exhausted. He carried the cautious look of a dog who had spent too long surviving on his own. Fortunately, one Good Samaritan couldn't ignore those soulful brown eyes pleading for help and decided to take him in. Now safe in a loving foster home with Take Paws Rescue, this approximately 40-pound Labrador/Plott Hound mix is finally learning what it feels like to be safe. Asher's sleek black coat is beautifully accented with brindle markings on his face and legs, while his warm amber eyes tell the story of his past. Initially shy, Asher gains confidence when he recognizes that he's safe. In less than 24 hours, he transformed into a complete "love bug"—happily curling up beside his people and soaking up the affection he's been missing. He is gentle with dogs of all sizes and has shown excellent manners around his foster's kitten, proving he has a sweet, respectful nature. Asher is simply looking for someone who will give him a little patience while he learns that love isn't temporary. Currently underweight and needing to gain a few healthy pounds, he's hoping to find a forever home where he never has to wonder where he belongs again.
