About Katnis
Meet Katnis! Katnis is a fluffy, fox-faced sweetheart with a gentle soul and an adorable, permanently smiling expression. At around 2 years old and 65 pounds, this beautiful girl is a mix of Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever, showcasing a delightful blend of softness, sensitivity, playfulness, and quiet affection. Having been dumped with her brother, Peeta, learning to trust humans has been a gradual, emotional journey for Katnis. Initially timid and unsure of the world, she has blossomed into a sweet, goofy companion thanks to patience, consistency, and plenty of treats. While she prefers slow introductions and needs time to evaluate new people, once trust is established, her affectionate side emerges beautifully. It’s heartwarming to see her sometimes get startled at first touch, only to melt into the affection she craves. Katnis gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and having a confident canine companion would further enhance her confidence. She's an absolute joy when playing with toys and can be quite goofy when feeling comfortable. She rides well in the car and is highly food motivated. While she is working through her fears during walks and in public, she needs an adopter who understands the power of patience and positive reinforcement. Ideally, Katnis would thrive in a calm home with older children (10+) who respect her space as she adjusts. An experienced adopter familiar with shy dogs and who can provide a predictable routine would be perfect for her. Watching Katnis embrace comfort, affection, toys, and safety has been a rewarding experience. Beneath her timid exterior lies a loving, goofy girl eager to feel secure and truly be herself. Katnis is ready to cautiously steal your heart! She's located in Houston, Texas, and transport to most states is available for an additional fee of $350-$500. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
