Meet Arthur 🐾🤍 Arthur is a stunning Great Pyrenees mix with a gentle spirit and a heart that’s still learning what safety feels like. He was surrendered to our rescue in heartbreaking condition—severely malnourished—and it quickly became clear that Arthur had spent the first 9 months of his life with little to no socialization. During that time, Arthur lived only in a backyard, without exposure to normal human interaction or the world beyond a fence. Because of this, he is understandably shy and fearful, and he will need an adopter with rescue-dog experience—someone who understands that trust is earned slowly, with patience, consistency, and compassion. Arthur is also a flight risk, so he will require a secure home environment and careful leash handling. The good news is that while Arthur waits for his forever home, our certified trainers are actively working with him, and they will also support his adopter by teaching proper leash and safety techniques for handling a fearful dog. Despite his difficult start, Arthur has so much potential. He would truly thrive in a home with other dogs, as canine companionship helps him feel more confident and grounded. Arthur is the kind of dog who will one day look back and wonder how he ever lived without love. He just needs the right person to show him that he’s finally safe—and that he never has to be forgotten again. 🤍🐾
