Charlie is a 2.5-year-old Great Dane who came to the rescue a bit underweight but is now a healthy 95 pounds. She's a classic representation of her breed—affectionate and eager for your attention. Whether you're watching TV or hanging out, she's there, wanting to be close. This gentle giant enjoys playing with other dogs, although small animals might not be her friends. She's not yet tested with cats but is housebroken, having only had a few accidents while adjusting to her new surroundings. Charlie does require some basic training, and her love for food helps her learn quickly. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but with a treat and some patience, she warms up easily. Given her size, Charlie would be best suited for families with older children, as her play style can be overwhelming for younger kids. Adopters should also be aware of her height—she can reach the top of the refrigerator! Despite her food-seeking behavior when left alone, she behaves well when humans are around.
