About Indigo
Indigo is a 2-year-old female Great Dane weighing in at 86 pounds. She’s incredibly affectionate and seeks plenty of pets and hugs from her foster mom. While she might be a bit shy at first when meeting new people, treats help her warm up quickly. Once she's comfortable, she’ll lean in for all the affection you can offer. This energetic gal gets the zoomies and shows off her bouncy spirit as soon as she's outside. Because of her size and playful nature, a family with older children is ideal. Although Indi has mild degenerative joint disease in her right hip, it doesn’t hold her back from enjoying life. Her foster humorously notes that she switches between full throttle and snooze mode. An active family will be perfect for helping her expend her energy. Indy has been treated for heartworm and needs to keep her energy levels down until mid-August, after which she'll be ready to resume her playful zoomies. Her food motivation makes training potential easy, but she can be fearful when it comes to commands. Patience will be key for her adoptive family as they work on her training skills. She’s learned "nose off the counter/table" and shows good compliance there. Indigo is potty trained, signaling her needs by jingling the bells on the door. While she’s crated when her foster mom is at work, she gets to roam freely at night. This sweet girl is also microchipped, housebroken, and spayed. Her adoptive family will need to complete a basic obedience course of their choice. If you want to welcome Indigo into your home, be sure to submit an adoption application online!
