About Pocus
Meet Pocus! This energetic young pup and his brother Hocus were rescued from an overcrowded shelter, and now they're ready for their forever homes, albeit separately. Pocus is a lively male puppy, estimated to be about 9 weeks old. Although he's believed to be a mix of Rottweiler and Golden Retriever, his future size is likely large, considering he's already 14.5 pounds. He thrives on playtime and has a fantastic personality; his playful nature means he needs an active household. Proper supervision and training are essential to channel his energy positively. He’s affectionate and enjoys the company of other dogs, but his exuberance might overwhelm less playful pets. Pocus has not yet been introduced to cats and may be too much for them. He's also very sweet with people but could be a bit rough for smaller kids due to his playful behavior. Older children or experienced adopters would be best to help him navigate puppy exuberance. Currently, Pocus is working on potty training. He knows how to use a doggie door but hasn’t mastered going outside for potty breaks yet. While he’s not leash trained, he’s improving in his crate and enjoys car rides, although he may try to snuggle up in your lap. His new family should be prepared for the commitment of a puppy; he needs routine, plenty of playtime, and lots of love. A fenced yard of at least 5 feet is required, as well as home and vet checks. If you can provide an active environment and you're ready to put in the effort for training, you’ll be rewarded with a wonderful companion. Located in Yorktown, VA, Pocus is waiting for the right match. Take the step to make Pocus a part of your family!
