About Odie
Odie is a 4-year-old, 65-pound black Rottweiler mix looking for a loving home where he can thrive. He had a challenging start in life, found abandoned as a puppy. Now, heโs on a journey to overcome his anxiety, supported by the daily love of his family. Neutered and house trained, Odie takes medication to help manage his anxiety, and while he can be nervous around new people, he forms deep, loyal bonds with those he trusts. Heโs great with gentle handling, especially with the familyโs 5-month-old baby, but older, dog-savvy kids would suit him best. While he has shown good behavior around dogs during boarding, a home without cats is necessary. Odie enjoys playtime, knows commands like sit, speak, and shake, and has plenty of playful energy. He does get protective of his people, especially his mom, and may bark or growl at strangers. He struggles with crate anxiety and does better when given access to just one room when left alone. Odie's anxiety has increased with the arrival of the baby, making him prone to mischief as he seeks ways to cope. His ideal new owner would be someone experienced, patient, and confident, helping him learn to relax and feel secure in his environment. If you're that special person ready to help Odie flourish, reach out. Heโs looking for a guiding hand to feel safe and loved. Your commitment could mean the world to him. What are you waiting for?
