About Petra
Petra: A Little Survivor with a Big Heart Petra's life began on the island of St. Lucia, where she faced tremendous challenges as a tiny pup. Alone and just 10 weeks old, she scoured the streets for food, evading danger while fighting to survive. Fortunately, a volunteer from SLAPS noticed her plight; Petra was scared and often hid away. But her rescuers saw her potential and brought her to safety, where she initially weighed only 8 pounds. Now, after more than a year in the shelter, Petra has arrived in the United States, ready for a fresh start. With her foster family, she is learning the joys of companionship and adventure. Her eyes light up when she sees her harness, ready for walks and outdoor explorations. Petra enjoys playing with other dogs, loves her toys, and absolutely adores breakfast time, often greeting it with an excited bounce on her back legs. She thrives in a calm, patient home environment, ideally without small children, as she continues to build her confidence at her own pace. Through it all, Petra remains gentle and loving, proving that her spirit is unbreakable. She’s ready to share her life with someone who appreciates her resilience and will provide her with the loving home she deserves. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
