Meet Toby, Mr. Cutie—a gentle soul in search of a patient forever home. At just 6 months old and weighing 26 pounds, Toby is a Carolina Dog and Corgi mix with a heart as big as his adorable ears. Abandoned at a high-kill shelter as a young pup, he faced challenges that scary environment brought. Thankfully, a loving foster took him in, allowing Toby to gradually come out of his shell. Initially terrified of the world beyond his foster home, Toby found reassurance from his foster sisters. Watching their playful antics helped him learn to enjoy outdoor adventure. Today, he confidently plays outside on a leash and loves relaxing in the sunshine. While shy with people he doesn’t know, he quickly becomes a loyal companion once he feels safe. Living peacefully with six dogs and one cat, he gets along beautifully with all animals, relying on them for guidance. A confident dog companion is essential for Toby to continue building on the progress he’s made. He is calm and gentle, doesn’t show signs of resource guarding, and has excellent manners. Although Toby is fine around kids, a quieter home is preferred to help him flourish. Currently puppy pad trained, Toby learns quickly and observes his surroundings carefully. Although he hasn't yet transitioned to outdoor potty breaks due to his fear of loud noises, he’s expected to adapt well when comfortable. With a patient family and a playful dog to show him the ropes, he will likely housebreak swiftly. Toby is already neutered, fully vaccinated, and on preventatives, making him a ready-to-adopt pup.
