About Stella

Meet Stella, a sweet but shy terrier mix who's about two years old and weighs 18.6 lbs. She’s slowly learning that the world can be a safe place, despite her past experiences. Stella arrived at the shelter with nine other dogs and hasn’t had much exposure to new people or places. As a result, she's still figuring out how to navigate her surroundings. Stella needs a patient adopter who understands she might feel scared and overwhelmed at times. Approaching her calmly and respecting her boundaries will help her feel more secure. While she’s not yet fond of the leash, you can coax her with treats, which she absolutely loves. This food motivation is a great tool to build her trust. Though she initially may be unsure, once Stella feels secure with you, she thrives on affection and enjoys being held close. Having come from a multi-dog home, she could benefit from a calm canine companion to help her gain confidence. If you are looking for a dog that will require patience and celebration of small milestones, Stella is your girl! Ready to help her find her forever home? Click apply to start the adoption process.
