About Pixie

Pixie is a resilient senior, a Dachshund/Terrier mix who’s proved herself one tough little lady. She first arrived with severe dental disease, mammary tumors, and a heart murmur, but never lost her gracious, gentle touch even through tough medical moments. After intensive surgeries—including complete dental extraction, mass removals, spay, and a second procedure for a fractured jaw—Pixie has shown nothing but heart and spirit. Currently, she’s making great progress in a caring foster home. Pixie’s known for being a true 'Velcro dog': she loves burrowing under blankets, curling up on the couch, and following her people from room to room. She enjoys car rides, walks gently on leash, and treats (bananas are a hit). She does well with kids and visitors, and typically prefers the company of male or mild-mannered female dogs. Her unique little nose is just a quirk, no medical worry. Pixie still needs some healing time, but she’s ready for the next chapter. She’ll fit best with a family that can cherish her through her golden years and provide close companionship. Her story is a reminder of how much love a senior dog still brings to a home.
