At first glance, he might seem a bit shy, but give him some gentle scratches and those soft tail wags will quickly tell you he's ready to be your loyal companion. He has a playful side that emerges after a warm-up period with other dogs; just 20 minutes is all it takes for Chewy to join in the fun. While he enjoys hanging with canine friends, it's the bond with humans that truly lights up his world. Chewy walks nicely on a loose leash, rides well in the car, and tends to be a quiet dog overall. He is crate trained but is still working on potty training; he's progressing well in that area. Chewy is great with both dogs and cats, making him an easy addition to any household. Grooming? He’s a superstar! Although a blow dryer on his face isn't his favorite, he handles baths, brushing, and grooming appointments like a pro. One of Chewy's charming traits is his sweet, gentle nature. He sometimes feels the urge to "protect" his girlfriend from other male dogs and may issue a bark or two, but it's all in good fun. He quickly returns to playtime with everyone. Chewy came to us from a neglect situation and is healing from a flea infestation, with a few small scabs that are on the mend. He’s healthy now and ready to find the loving family he deserves.
