About Oona

Meet Oona! This extraordinary girl is looking for a family that matches her unique spirit. Oona, along with her friend Mora, was born with Myotonia Congenita, often playfully referred to as "Fainting Goat Syndrome." But don't let that fool you—these resilient pups are full of energy and love to play, cuddle, and be around their people just like any other dog. While Oona and Mora are not officially bonded, our team believes they would thrive together. If that’s not feasible, Oona would do best in a home with another friendly, calm canine companion to help boost her confidence. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has adapted beautifully to her routine. Oona enjoys smaller, more frequent meals and gentle exercise. She takes her medication with ease, which helps her manage her condition effectively. Luckily, Myotonia Congenita isn’t progressive, so with proper care, Oona can lead a long, fulfilling life. Located in the Greater Savannah area, Oona has an established relationship with Dr. Jason King at Live Oak Veterinary Specialists, making care accessible. If you’re outside this area, establishing care with a veterinary specialist is key. Oona is available for adoption through the Humane Society for Greater Savannah in Savannah, Georgia. Ready to help this amazing girl find her forever loving home?
