At just 8 months old and weighing 37 pounds, he’s the ideal companion, likely to reach around 45 pounds as an adult. While his exact breed is a mystery, we suspect he has some Labrador Retriever and Chihuahua in his mix. Boone joined us from California's Central Valley after being found as a stray. It's heartbreaking that no one came for him, but he is proving every day that someone’s loss will turn into another family’s greatest joy. Initially unsure of his new surroundings, Boone has blossomed remarkably. His confidence grows daily; he now enjoys meeting new people, making friends with other dogs, and embracing life enthusiastically. Dogs are Boone’s absolute favorite. He thrives when around canine companions, making him a great candidate for a home with another playful dog. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, is respectful around cats, and is suitable for families with children past the toddler stage. Boone is doing great with both house training and crate training. He’s a smart, sensitive boy who aims to please. Whether he’s joining you on adventures, playing with other dogs, or relaxing by your feet, Boone is happiest when he’s part of the family. His ideal home would feature a securely fenced yard for playtime, another friendly dog as a buddy, a committed family dedicated to his training and socialization, and plenty of love, patience, and family activities to include him in. Boone has all the qualities of an incredible family dog—he’s sweet, social, dog-friendly, and eager to love. He’s ready to leave his stray days behind and start a new chapter with a family who will treasure him forever.
