About Beckett

Congratulations Beckett!!!! He beat the odds after a dog attack that left him with 2 broken legs and parvo. Beckett was supposed to have an additional surgery yesterday to remove 2 screws that were loose. (Who does not have a couple of screws loose.) However, an additional X ray indicated that surgery was no longer needed and Beckett is now able to move on to his forever home. Dr. Beckett and staff at VCA Sawmill took great care of Beckett and his sister Ella. Beckett is now able to walk using both back legs and prognosis in the future "may" be arthritis as he becomes a senior dog. (Who does not have arthritis as they age??.) Beckett's stride is a little unusual right now as he navigates how to use his back legs. Sometimes he alternates his legs and other times he hops like a bunny. Because of this, he may be best in a family that is not looking for a running buddy. Beckett is a low energy puppy, so if he does have a fur sibling in the future it would be best if he has one that matches his energy level. A low energy family will be the best fit for Beckett. Beckett has a reported DOB of 2.21.26. He currently weighs 10 lbs while his sister weighs 15 lbs. Best guess on breed is a beagle mix, maybe with a husky since his sister has haunting blue eyes. Beckett sleeps quietly in his crate at night....unless he has access to a squeaky toy. He is making great strides with house training and will potty as soon as he is taken outside. Beckett is a super sweet and happy little boy. You can apply to meet him at ricopetrecovery.org. The adoption fee for Beckett is $350 and includes 2 sets of vaccines and the neuter surgery and a microchip at our partner veterinarian when he's old enough to be neutered.
