Meet Shawn Our Pocket-Sized Golden Boy! At just 1 year old and 34 pounds, Shawn may be small in size, but he has a heart as big as they come. This adorable little golden has had a difficult start in life. Shawn arrived at a shelter with an injured leg that required FHO (femoral head osteotomy) surgery. The wonderful shelter staff made sure he received the care he needed and couldn't say enough about what a sweet, friendly boy he was. They were so grateful when we agreed to welcome him into rescue. A team of amazing volunteers made the long drive to bring Shawn to our veterinary hospital, where he continues his recovery while being showered with love, care, and attention. In the short time Shawn has been with us, we've watched him blossom both physically and emotionally. When he first arrived, he was understandably sad and shut down, but each day his gentle, loving personality shines a little brighter. He truly has the sweetest soul. Shawn has already met several other dogs and has done very well with all of them. What he needs now is a forever home that will allow him to continue healing while surrounding him with the love, patience, and security he deserves. We want Shawn to learn that life will never be hard for him again. The good news is that Shawn is expected to make a full recovery and should be up and runningliterallywithin the next 2 to 3 months!
